Approved in Peru the resumption of economic activities in the area of Restaurants and Related Services in the modality of attention in lounge with capacity to 40%, except bars.
With more than three million infections, Latin America remains the global epicenter of COVID-19. The region of Peru, in particular, is already considered one of the Latin American countries that has been hit the hardest by the Coronavirus, even being the first country in the region to decree a mandatory general quarantine on March 15, 2020, and the pandemic, in addition to seriously affecting the health of the Andean country, shook the foundations of the Peruvian economy, suffering the largest economic downturn in the last hundred years.
In order to formulate the strategy for the progressive resumption of economic activities within the framework of the Health Emergency at the national level, the “Multisectoral Working Group for the resumption of economic activities” was formed on April 25, 2020, which prepared a gradual plan of 4 phases to reactivate the production affected by the pandemic.
After the first and second phases, Peru is currently in the first and second phase.
is in Phase 3 of the Resumption of Activities.
Ministerial Resolution No. 208-2020-PRODUCE, published on July 12, 2020, has approved the resumption of economic activities related to the Production Sector, as is the case of Restaurants and Related Services in the modality of attention in lounge with capacity to 40%, except bars, of Phase 3.
However, it is not in vain that the country of Lima has highlighted the need to incorporate the necessary precautions and protective measures to prevent contagion and minimize the risk of an outbreak of COVID-19 that could jeopardize the adequate response of health services and, thus, the health and welfare of society as a whole. To this end, entities, companies or legal persons must first:
a) Prepare its “Plan for the surveillance, prevention and control of COVID-19 at work” according to the “Guidelines for the surveillance, prevention and control of the health of workers at risk of exposure to COVID-19”, approved by Ministerial Resolution No. 448-2020-MINSA, as well as -complementarily- the Sanitary Protocol of Operation before the COVID-19 of the Production Sector for the gradual and progressive restart of economic activities of services.
b) Send the referred Plan via e-mail to the Ministry of Health, at the following e-mail address: [email protected].
These are the 7 guidelines for the surveillance, prevention and control of the health of workers at risk of exposure to COVID-19:
